AVO Turbo World, one of the leading producers of aftermarket performance products for Subaru, Mazda and Nissan, and the manufacturer of many innovative turbo systems and related parts, has turned an engineering eye to the 2018+ Suzuki Jimny.
After some further r&d with increasing boost and running a larger exhaust, knowing we needed to add more fuelling to make these modifications work we tried further changes with the ECU tune to try to extract this and to no avail. We added injectors and were still not that happy with the result, we put the standard injectors back in to try upgrading the fuel pump. We then removed the factory fuel pump and tested it. The result of this showed 95 litres per hour at 43 PSI.
The next task was to find a fuel pump that had the same dimensions and flowed more. We found a genuine factory pump that met the fitment requirements and flowed 150 litres per hour at 43 PSI on our fuel pump testing machine. This was fitted and a tune was then developed. With a full exhaust system with one factory cat and and one hi-flow aftermarket cat we were able to run 6-6.5 psi with enough on-board fuel for additional power, torque and reliability.
If you already have an AVOTurboworld MAP with your AVO Turbo Kit, then it must still be returned for the updated MAP to go with the fuel pump, it will be free of charge.
The Turbo Kit combined with the Tune, Fuel Pump and Exhaust will form what we call the Stage 2 kit. Just remember, if you have any upgrades to your exhaust or cat removals then you need the Stage 2 tune along with the fuel pump upgrade
